How this tool works
Tesla interiors changed more between refreshes than the exterior suggests, and that is what breaks accessory fitment. The finder takes your model and the generation or model year and lists the changes that matter for accessories on that car: footwell shapes for floor mats, seat rails for under-seat storage, the center console layout, the screen size and any moves in charge port, frunk and trunk shape.
Each fitment gotcha is paired with the accessory categories it affects and links the roundups that are sorted by generation, so you shop from lists that already exclude parts cut for the wrong year.

How to read your result
Read the gotchas as a pre-purchase checklist. Before buying any mat, console insert, screen protector or trunk organizer, confirm the listing names your generation, not just your model; many listings only say Model 3 or Model Y and fit only one of the two generations.
Where the finder says a category is unaffected by the refresh, you can shop across years safely. Where it flags a change, an older part will sit proud, leave a gap or block a vent, and returns are your only remedy.

Do Model 3 and Model Y accessories interchange?+
Some do, such as most sunshades and charging accessories. Floor mats, trunk mats and console organizers do not, because the cabins differ in length and shape. Buy the item made for your model and generation.
Which years count as the refresh?+
The finder lists the model years that share a cabin for each model. Refreshes changed the footwells, console and screen, which is why a mat cut for the earlier cabin does not fit the later one.
How can I confirm my generation quickly?+
Check the build date on the driver's door jamb sticker and compare it with the cutover the finder shows for your model. The screen size and console style are visual confirmation.
Why do some listings fit every year?+
Because they are generic, and generic is usually the problem. A universal floor mat covers less than a laser-measured one, and a universal console tray rattles. Model and year specific parts are worth the wait.
